Lights On

by Sanhedrin

supported by

William Knight Shades of early Maiden, Priest, pub rock and a shit ton of punk, this album -rocks- so much more than most trad metal releases. Add in lyrics that if anything wear their left wing politics even more on their sleeve than the previous albums and you have arguably the best Sanhedrin album and an easy contender for album of the year.

were-jaguar Merciless lyrics! Great musicianship! True execution! Nathan has the best drum sound! Buy it!

Dementicus Sanhedrin is one of the standout acts of the new wave of trad metal. They don't just copy the past but integrate proggy flourishes to craft a sound that's both nostalgic and fresh as hell. This is another highly enjoyable set of songs. Great job folks! Favorite track: Hero's End.

dharmalogos Finally new Sanhedrin. I had been waiting to buy this until it was available on vinyl. Sanhedrin maintain their original sound that falls somewhere among the riffs of Motorhead, melodies of Priest, and vocals of Dio. Big vocal hooks. Lots of swagger with riffs that use ballsy bends on double-stops. Sanhedrin are doing what they've always done, but their vocals are more in tune, production clearer, and playing more accurate - without losing any of the music's distinctive humanity.

lgriffin1991 Their best one yet. Gutsy, rootsy old school metal that takes what they liked about the style and just writes killer songs - no pandering or bland imitation. Honest rock music. Favorite track: Code Blue.

about

Sanhedrin Brooklyn, New York

Sanhedrin’s sound is familiar but also sincere. While their songwriting is clearly rooted in the classics, their take on rock and metal comes across as fresh and honest. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Sanhedrin’s sound is a combination of the toughness and beauty that their home borough embodies.
